2002 DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out Winners Announce:

Representing the best work produced in digital printing, imaging and graphics, winners of this year’s André Schellenberg Competition were selected at DPI’s 10^th Annual Conference and Exhibit help March 6-9, 2002 in Palm Springs, California.

Entries reflect submissions in digital photo print; electrostatic; textile transfer and direct print; unique applications; and fine art.

Color Textiles Inc entered two categories, Textile Transfer & Direct Print and Fine Art and was the only entrant to win two awards. Both entries were produced with Color Textiles Inc own Color Plus® Fabric line of digital inkjet print fabric. The Fine Art category was won by the Napoleon Jacket; an image of Napoleon that was printed on Color Plus® cotton twill. The Textile Direct print category was won with a Silk Scarf Collection of five different scarves produced on Color Plus® Silk Satin Charmeuse, Silk Crepé Di Chin and Silk Chiffon. Sabine Baeckmann of Sabine Baeckmann Design supplied some of the images. All of the images were scanned and edited in Adobe® PhotoShop® by Lori Dvir-Djerassi, the digital artist and founder of Color Textiles Inc. All images were printed on an ENCAD Pro 42E with Lyson Inks.

The digital Printing and Imaging Association represents digital printing and imaging firms throughout the world. 2002 DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out Winners Announced

ORLANDO, Fla. — The winners of the 2002 DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out were announced today at the PMA 2002 Annual Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, Fla., USA.

Winners were chosen from 108 prints from 28 companies displayed during the DIMA Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.

Entries in the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out were produced from files created by Quality Chrome Imaging Center, Charlotte, N.C., USA. Participants were asked to provide specification information pertaining to the equipment used (printer, RIP and color management), the consumables used (output media and ink/toner/dye), and the production timing. Trade attendees of the DIMA Annual Conference voted upon the entries based on image quality and color accuracy.
